This is a wonderful and luminous Antique California Plein Air Impressionist Landscape Oil Painting on canvas, by California painter “Ardell.” I could not find much information on any painter with this surname, but perhaps you recognize the artist? This work approximately dates to the 1940’s - 1950’s. This painting depicts and vivid and delicately painted mountain vista, with snow capped peaks and a small rural home in the foreground. Small patches of wildflowers and yellow autumn trees accentuate the tranquil prairie scene. Some light craquelure in some areas, and minor paint loss from age. Frame has some scuffing and edge wear. Please see photos. Approximately 24 3/8 x 30 1/4 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 18 x 24 1/8 inches.
